After winning the Miami Open to extend his incredible 2024 season, Jannik Sinner’s coach, Darren Cahill, has hinted that the Italian player may yet get even better.
As Sinner keeps on growing, Cahill believes he will get stronger, quicker, and slightly wiser. He also notes that Sinner has been improving in some areas of his game. The 22-year-old, who has already won at the Australian Open and in Rotterdam, has surged to a career-high ranking of world No. 2 after winning three tournaments in a row.
After Sinner’s incredible performance in the Miami Open final, Cahill was questioned about how much better Sinner could get considering his explosive form during a press conference.
Cahill expressed his thoughts about Sinner and said: “From where he is at the moment, right now he’s playing his hand. You can’t sugar-coat it. He’s playing great, and his level today was fantastic. But he can get better. As evolution goes along and you get a little bit older and stronger and faster and get a bit smarter, all those things are going to start to come into his game.”
He further added: “We have been working on improving his serve, improving his transition game, improving his slice backhand to use it as a changeup shot, improving his direction on his forehand, return of serve. You can go through everybody’s game. This generation is privileged to have seen the previous generations push for improvements no matter how old you are. That’s what Jannik will do. So yes, he can get better for sure. But we’ve got to give credit where credit is due. He’s playing terrific tennis at the moment.”

LWWWWWWWWW At the moment ranked no.2 (career-high), Jannik played his last match on the 31st of March when he overcame world no.9 Grigor Dimitrov 6-3 6-1 in the final in Miami to win his 14th career title.
This season Sinner has a 22-1 record. Sinner clinched 3 titles in 2024 at the Australian Open, Rotterdam and Miami.
Sinner is scheduled to compete next in Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters (Monte–Carlo). He will start to play the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 7th of April.
