Stan Wawrinka did it again!
The Swiss no.2 had no problems at all with playing and defeating any big 4 and he repeated himself in Paris. Things didn’t start well for Stan against Nadal that was brolen in the first game. Eventually Wawrinka managed to break back Rafa in the 10th game (5-all) to bring the set to the breaker that the Swiss won at 8 after saving 3 set points.
In the second set it was Wawrinka to make a move by breaking Nadal in the 7th game (4-3), but he failed to serve out the match to be broken in the 10th game (5-all). Once again the set went to the breaker that Stan won after saving 3 set points (again). The encounter ended after 2 hours and 23 minutes. The last ball was struck 1am in morning!
The semis vs. Djokovic
Stan will play Novak Djokovic in the semifinal. Head to head is 19-4 for the Serbinator, but he definitely doesn’t like playing Stan.
