Murray trashes Goffin

Andy Murray and David Goffin are going to be “enemies” for the last title of the season. The Scot and the Belgian will be the key players for the Davis Cup final and interesting enough their destinies crossed also in the last ATP1000 of the season. So we were all curious to see what message each player could deliver across the net and Andy’s statement… well that was something. The Scot trashed Goffin 6-1 6-0 in just 53 minutes (and that was nasty).

Murray: It was good playing him before the Davis Cup

Andy shared some thoughts about the Davis Cup final “Obviously clay is seen as being my worst surface, but I still feel like I play well on that court. I don’t know what speed the court’s going to be. If it’s quick, then I think that will help my serve a lot. If it’s slow, then I feel like I can track a lot of balls down on the clay, which is positive.

But it was good for me to get the chance to play him before the Davis Cup and see his game and the speed of his shots and where he maybe makes some mistakes from and things that he likes to do. Obviously with the result, that’s a positive. I mean, mentally for me it’s a positive win.”

 Next vs. Gasquet

Andy will play Richard Gasquet in the quarters. Head to head is 6-3 for Murray that has won the last 4 matches.
