Djokovic says he has no idea who might be his new coach after split with Ivanisevic

Novak Djokovic admits he is unsure about selecting a new coach in the wake of his split from Goran Ivanisevic. Djokovic has talked candidly about the recent split for the first time since the decision was made.

Djokovic And His Ex Coach

Following his split from Goran Ivanisevic, Novak Djokovic says he is unclear about choosing a new coach.

Together, they had six incredibly successful years, with Ivanisevic helping Djokovic advance his serve to tie the record with 24 Grand Slam victories. For the first time since the decision was taken, Djokovic has openly commented about the recent separation.

Despite this, the Serbian is in no hurry to bring in a new coach to replace Ivanisevic. He expressed his thoughts about it recently and said: “I still don’t have a clear idea who a new coach would be or whether there will be one at all. I’ve had coaches since I was a kid, and now I am trying to feel for myself what I need, and what I feel most comfortable with. You will be informed in case someone joins the team.”

He added: “Together, we’ve written the history of our sport; we have won Slams and ended seasons as number one in the world, but we went through trials and tribulations as well—disqualification at the US Open, deportation from Australia. I will always remember that he was there for me as a person, as a human being, first and foremost, and that he brought the right set of values into our relationship. That kind of chemistry was followed by great results. I wish Goran all the best.”
