On Saturday, Jannik Sinner defeated fellow Italian Andrea Vavassori 6-3, 6-4 to go to the third round of the Miami Open.
Rain forced Friday’s match to be halted, with Sinner ahead 3-2. Sinner had to wait until the next day to secure his first win at Miami.
On the trip, the 22-year-old Sinner improved his record against other Italians to 12-0. Sinner said: “I think there’s a lot of difference between here and anywhere else. Here, maybe the court suits me a little bit better because the ball is not that bouncy. But I feel just mentally quite free to play, and I think that’s most important.”
After the Sinner’s match was suspended due to rain, the Italian player was spotted playing soccer with a child.
