At the Miami Open, Carlos Alcaraz commenced his quest with yet another thrilling performance that even made the legendary Andy Murray smile.
After defeating Roberto Carballes Baena 6-2, 6-1 in the third round, the world No. 2 got off to a decisive start in his campaign. Alcaraz gave a normally intense performance, and some of his shot-making skills lifted the roof off several of the fans.
Murray recently showed his respect for Alcaraz by saying that he always smiles when he watches the Spaniard. Following Alcaraz’s Miami Open matchup with Carballes Baena, Murray took to social media to show his respect for the Spaniard.
Murray wrote on X: “Watching Alcaraz play tennis makes me smile.”
Murray also said in the latest interview about Alcaraz: “I love watching [Carlos] Alcaraz because of the way that he plays the game. He’s just got so much variety and power, and he tries stuff. He doesn’t always get it right; he makes mistakes, and that is also something that I enjoy. You never know what’s going to come next.”
Alcaraz thanked Murray and wrote: “Andy!! Thanks Man!”
