After suffering an injury during his loss to Carlos Alcaraz in Indian Wells last Saturday, Australian Open winner Jannik Sinner said he wasn’t sure if he would participate in the Miami Open. However, it appears the world No. 3 player is prepared to go to Florida.
Sinner was seen stretching out his calf in a match that resulted in his first loss of 2024, and he also injured his elbow after sliding during his thrilling battle against Alcaraz.
Sinner said after his defeat against Alcaraz: “I feel a little bit of everything on my body, but it’s normal. It’s a sport. You know, you have to accept this. I had some problems, just small problems, but it was okay throughout until the third set. Then, when I fell, I felt a little bit of the elbow because I fell over the elbow and rolled over. So was for me after tough service. But he makes it very difficult to play. He puts a lot of pressure on you. You know, he changed a couple of things tactically, which I have to watch out for next time. I have to improve a couple of things and try to beat him again.”
Sinner is excited about the opportunity to face Alcaraz once more after their exciting matchup in Indian Wells. The two most talked-about men’s tennis players are in opposite halves of the Miami draw and will contend to face each other in the final match for the title.
