Marat Safin and Justine Henin has been nominated (for a reason!) for the International Hall of Fame. Both Marat and Justine fully deserve their nomination after an incredible career. The induction is scheduled for July 2016.
Safin
Marat 25 career titles, 2 slams (the US Open in 2000 and the Australian Open in 2005). Safin was world no.1 for 9 weeks in 2000 to be the tallest world no.1 in tennis history (1.93 mt or 6.4 ft).
Marat commented “To be part of a Hall of Fame is every athlete’s dream. It is a great honor to have my tennis career recognized in this way, and I am proud to represent Russian tennis with this nomination for such a prestigious honor in our sport.”
Henin
Justin has won 43 career titles, 7 slams (1 Australian Open, 4 Roland Garros and 2 US Open). The Belgian got to the very top of the rankings in 2003 and she stayed there for 117 weeks.
