Carlos Alcaraz is prepared to play in his second consecutive Indian Wells final after beating Jannik Sinner in the semi-finals. The young Spaniard won the competition last year, but this time around, he is prepared to show his more developed side on the court and has his strategies ready before the final match for the title.
When asked recently if he intended to face Tommy Paul or Daniil Medvedev in the tournament’s final round, the second-ranked tennis player in the world had a pretty direct response.
The 20-year-old Spaniard qualified for the championship match before Paul and Medvedev’s other semifinal even got underway. Alcaraz was questioned about his game plan in the post-match news conference after defeating his opponent. He said that he would use it against whichever of the two players gets to the final.
Alcaraz stated his remarks about facing Medvedev and said: “If I play against Daniil, I know how I have to play against him. I have played many times, including the final against him last year. So I know pretty well the tactics against him, but I’m not going to tell you guys the tactics. Sorry. But I know very, very well how to play against him.”
