Good news for the tennis fans in Perth as Nick Kyrgios and Serena Williams confirmed their presence at the 2016 Hopman Cup.
Kyrgios
Nick commented “I didn’t get to play this year so I’m really looking forward to just being healthy and getting out there.
My good friend Thanasi has played there and he told me it’s one of the best places he’s ever played at. I really enjoy that sort of atmosphere. It’s serious but, at times, it’s all about the fun and obviously playing for the crowd, so I really enjoy that.”
Serena
The world no.1 has already enjoyed a pre-season in Perth. This year she has surprised everybody after ordering an espresso in court after being bagelled 6-0 by Flavia Pennetta. “Perth definitely started something quite amazing, so I think it’s only natural and fair and reasonable that I go back to Perth.
We were so close to winning last year (she reached the final with John Isner). I’m really excited to be back. For me, the Hopman Cup is super great preparation for the Australian Open.”
