One of the initial queries focused on the pronunciation of his name, to which he clarified, “Is it ‘Mateo’ or ‘Matteo’? Guys, two Ts, two Ts, Matteo. ‘Mateo’ I think is more like Spanish vibes. In Italy, we use a lot of double letters.”
The 27-year-old also opened up about his affinity for tattoos, acknowledging his grandmother’s disapproval of his inked body. “Yeah, I have quite a lot. My grandma is not happy about it but I think I have 11. I have a feeling that it’s going to be more soon but yeah, I just love them so can’t help it,” Berrettini shared candidly.
In response to a question about his striking appearance, Berrettini attributed his good looks to his mixed heritage, blending Brazilian and Italian ancestry. “Uhm… I think good genes. Brazilian genes in me, Italian. I didn’t do anything, it was just a gift I guess… so embarrassing,” he modestly remarked.

Matteo Berrettini will fight against the world no.77 Arthur Cazaux in the 2nd round on Thursday at 7:00 pm on CENTER COURT. They have never played each other till now in top events.
