Alcaraz says that he is more confident after the win at Indian Wells

After a slow start to the season and significant concern following his withdrawal from Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Alcaraz feels comfortable around everyone at Indian Wells, including himself.

Alcaraz Says He Is Confident

Carlos Alcaraz feels at ease with everyone at Indian Wells, including himself, after a slow start to the season and a serious concern after his withdrawal from Rio de Janeiro. The Spaniard’s game is improving along with his ankle.

He took excellent revenge on Fabian Marozsan, who had outplayed him in Rome the previous year, on Tuesday. The world No. 2 won 6-3, 6-3, not dropping a set and making things easy for himself by returning nearly all of his opponent’s serves.

However, Alcaraz stated at a press conference that he is finally playing his best tennis of the season and that his confidence is always rising.

Alcaraz expressed his thoughts about it and said: “I always say that I can be better, that I can play better. But I’m really happy with the way I approached the game, the way I played, and the way I felt. You know, I think I moved well. I controlled the timing of the match very well. At the most difficult points and the hardest moments, I managed the timing very well. I’m getting more and more confident.”

He added: “You have to relax a bit, not think about tennis all the time. I love playing on these courts; I think all these years—well, all these years. For the last three years, I’ve played some excellent tennis here. Yes, I think this tournament has given me extra motivation.”
