At the Indian Wells Open, Ben Shelton overcame the talented 18-year-old Jakub Mensik by displaying determination.

The American frequently participates in thrilling games. His energetic, potent, and distinctive style frequently results in competitions that keep the audience on the edge of their seats.

It was not surprising that Mensik performed at such a high level. Having had the best of the first two games, he forced Shelton to save two break points in his second serving game.

In the next service game that Shelton played, Mensik made a breakthrough. But he quickly gave up that lead with a few poor shots, allowing Shelton to come back strong in the following game.

In Mensik’s next service game, Shelton had a 15–40 lead, but he was unable to convert those opportunities. Shelton then had an incredibly poor serving performance. Mensik prevailed 6-4 by breaking and serving it out.

That was followed by Shelton’s huge serve. The score was 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 in his favor. This was an extremely entertaining match between two players with bright futures in the game. After this win, Shelton became the first player to beat the younger player on the ATP tour.
