Genie Bouchard is having a horrible 2015 (thanks God is almost over!).
After a terrible season the Canadian Beauty was rebounding at the US Open, but unfortunately she had to surrender after a freak accident in the physiotherapy room. Apparently the floor was still wet and she fell to get a rather nasty concussion that compromised her US Open (she retired) and the following tournaments.
Eventually Genie decided to sue the USTA (United States Tennis Association) for negligence.
The suit
The suit states that “Ms. Bouchard entered the physiotherapy room of the women’s locker room when she was caused to slip and fall by a slippery, foreign and dangerous substance on the floor,”
Negligence
According to Genie the injuries “were caused solely by the reason of carelessness, negligence, wanton and willful disregard on the part of Defendant USTA.”
The USTA declined to comment.
