Garbine Muguruza needs to rest.
The new world no.4 (almost no.3) has just triumphed in Beijing the week after reaching the final in Wuhan and she is obviously dead tired. So the Spaniard decided not to play this week in Hong Kong to have more time to recover.
Garbine cited an injury to her ankle as the “official excuse”.
The Hong Kong organisaton had also to accept another couple of important retirements as also Genie Bouchard and Vika Azarenka were not fit to play.
