In a thrilling display of tennis, rising American stars Ben Shelton and Emma Navarro emerged victorious in the 2024 Eisenhower Cup. The event, a Tie Break Tens tournament, was held at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden2.
The Eisenhower Cup, presented by Masimo, is a fast-paced, knockout-style single elimination competition. This year, it featured 16 of the brightest stars on Tour, who took the court in Stadium 2. The teams competed in front of a packed house, ringing in the first day of main draw action in Indian Wells.
Former NCAA Champions Emma Navarro and Ben Shelton were the last team standing, lifting the crown as the newest Eisenhower Cup champions. They edged Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece and Paula Badosa of Spain, 10-8, in a mixed doubles Tiebreak Tens exhibition charity event.
The Prize
With their win, Navarro and Shelton earned a whopping $200,000. True to the Eisenhower Cup tradition, they will donate this prize money to the charities of their choice
. All ticket sales and proceeds from the event will be donated to The Champions Volunteer Foundation, the official non-profit arm of the BNP Paribas Open that supports local charities and organizations throughout the Coachella Valley.Ben Shelton in 2024
Ranked no.16, Shelton played his last match on the 29th of February when he lost to world no.9 Casper Ruud 6-7(7) 6-4 6-4 in the quarter in Acapulco (draw).
