You think that the new superstar, Victoria Azarenka that crashed everybody in 2012 would destroy the nr. 37 in the world in the second round? Well think again!!!
Victoria was leading 6-4 5-1, but then she suffered from a black out (12 double faults in total) and a very smooth match changed in a tough marathon! Yes.. it took 3 hours for Azarenka to eventually get to the third round. At a certain point it was quite clear that Azarenka was close to be upset when she had to cope with a 1-4 and 3-5 deficit in the third set.
Then her experience (and power) helped her to get back to eventually win the final tiebreak at 6.
Victoria’s 2012 is now 18-0
