Garbine Muguruza wins the China Open for the second time after beating Timea Bacsinszky in straight sets (7-5 6-4).
The most interesting part of the final was the first set as the Swiss was leading 5-2. Eventually, Garbine fired back to grab five consecutive games and win the opener. In the second set, Bacsinszky also squandered a 2-0 lead to lose 6-4.
After this win, Garbine will be ranked world 4 (career high), and she will be just 1 point shy from world no.3 Maria Sharapova. No bad for the 22-year-old.

Garbine congratulated Bacsinszky that will break in the top10 after she practically came out from retirement a couple of years ago “I want to congratulate Timea of course – Top 10 is an amazing achievement. For me, to be able to come and win the tournament after losing in the finals of Wuhan last week is a great achievement. It’s amazing, and I can’t wait to come back and defend my title next year.”

Timea gave a rather emotional speech to thank her coach for the help “I actually want to dedicate this tournament to someone. I came from really, really far away, I almost retired two years ago, and this man over there, my coach, Dimitri, thank you for helping me every day. You brought Stanislas to Top 10, and now you’ve brought me to Top 10. Thank you for every day.”
