At the Movistar Chile Open on Thursday, Sebastian Baez earned his way back into the winner’s column, four days after winning his fifth and greatest ATP Tour title in Rio de Janeiro. The second-seeded Argentine began his campaign at the ATP 250 with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 victory over Juan Pablo Varillas.

On a winning streak of six matches, Baez will go into his 16th tour-level quarterfinal (9-6) encounter. He finishes February with an 11-2 record, having advanced to the semifinals in Cordoba and the quarterfinals in Buenos Aires.

The Rio Open winner Baez has moved into the top 10, and Jannik Sinner is in the lead in the updated ATP Race for this week. It means Baez is close to Novak Djokovic, Sinner, and Carlos Alcaraz in the ATP Rankings.
