Ugo Humbert credits his perfect record in the ATP Tour finals to confidence in himself. Humbert maintained his excellent run on Saturday at the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships.
He defeated Alexander Bublik 6-4, 6-3 to win the title. The Frenchman now has a 6-0 record in tour-level title matches after winning his second ATP 500 event in Dubai.
He expressed his thoughts after the match and said: “I played at a fantastic level during the whole week. Today was not easy. I don’t know, but I have a good statistic. I have a really good team around me.”
Humbert thinks he can handle big stars because of his vision and self-assurance. He added: “I think when I was a kid, I dreamed a lot of playing these kinds of matches in the stadium against the best players in the world. Yeah, when I go on court, I say to myself, Okay, you can win. That’s why I think I’m really good against them. I have a great state of mind every time I play a final. I manage to be 100% here. I try to find a solution to come out victorious because I believe that is what drives me most—to win trophies.”
