Russian tennis star Daniil Medvedev expressed mixed emotions following his defeat in the semifinals of the Dubai Tennis Championships to Ugo Humbert. Despite reaching the penultimate stage of the tournament, Medvedev acknowledged the challenges he faced due to an injury that affected his serve throughout the event.

“I’m happy with the fact that I was able to reach the SF. I was injured before Dubai and my serve was not 100% in this tournament,” Medvedev stated, reflecting on his performance in Dubai.

The world No. 2, known for his powerful serves and aggressive baseline game, revealed his disappointment at his inability to muster the required energy during his semifinal encounter with Humbert. Medvedev recognized the importance of maintaining optimal energy levels in high-stakes matches and emphasized the need for improvement in this aspect of his game.

“I’m disappointed that I didn’t have the right energy tonight, and that’s something I need to change for Indian Wells and Miami,” he remarked.

Looking forward, Medvedev expressed determination to bounce back stronger in the upcoming tournaments, particularly the prestigious events in Indian Wells and Miami.
