Andy Murray has stated that the Wimbledon Tournament this year will probably be his final event before he retires from tennis following this summer’s Olympic Games.
After losing in Dubai International’s second round on Wednesday, the 36-year-old declared that he was tired of having to respond to questions regarding his future. Before retiring, Murray stated in an interview that he intended to compete in another Olympic Games. On Monday, he hinted that he might be approaching the end of his career.
After losing to Ugo Humbert in straight sets, the two-time Wimbledon winner stated that he doubted he would play again until the summer.
Murray expressed his thoughts and said: “I’m likely not going to play past this summer. I get asked about it after every single match that I play and every single tournament that I play. I’m bored with the question, to be honest. I’m not going to talk more about that between now and whenever the time comes for me to stop. But, yes, I don’t plan on playing much past this summer.”
Murray has long stated that he knows when he wants to end his career, but he also says that he may not reveal his plans in advance.
He added: “When the time is right, I will probably say something before I play my last match and my last tournament. Whether I say anything months ahead of time, I don’t know. There’s no right way to finish your career and everyone is different so what might be the right way for Roger Federer might not be the right way for Rafael Nadal, and it might not be the right way for Novak Djokovic.”

LWLLLLWLWW Currently ranked no.67, the Brit played his last match on the 28th of February when he was overcome by world no.18 Ugo Humbert 6-2 6-4 in the 2nd round in Dubai (draw).
Currently, during this season the Brit owns a composed 2-6 win-loss record.
Murray is scheduled to compete next in Phoenix Challenger (Phoenix Challenger). He will start the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 1st of January.
