Kei Nishikori keeps on marching in Tokyo.
The Japanese no.1 had a solid display against Sam Querrey to win7-6 (3) 6-3 and book a place in the last 8 in Japan.
Nishikori: I had to keep my focus
Kei commented “It was very important to keep my focus against such a big server. The first-set tiebreak was key.
After that I was able to relax a little and I think I played some pretty decent tennis. But I know it’s going to get much tougher from here.”
Next vs. Cilic
Nishikori will play Marin Cilic for a place in the semifinal. Head to head is 6-3 for Japanese.
