In addition to his many professional achievements, Novak Djokovic is once again a nominee for the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year Award in 2024.

It was revealed on Monday that Djokovic, the four-time winner of the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year award, is once again up for the prestigious title.

The renowned award acknowledges the exceptional accomplishments of players and groups in a range of sports. Max Verstappen, Erling Haaland, Lionel Messi, Noah Lyles, and Mondo Duplantis are just a few of the fierce competitors the Serb must contend with. Given their respective successes from the previous year, Djokovic and Verstappen appear to be among the favorites for the title.

The Serbian won the award in 2012, 2015, 2016, and 2019. He can tie Roger Federer, the five-time winner, for the most titles won by a tennis player.

Djokovic wrote on X: “It’s an honor to be nominated for @LaureusSport 2024 World Sportsman of the Year. A special group to be a part of! Congratulations to my fellow nominees, @ErlingHaaland, @mondohoss600, @LylesNoah, @Max33Verstappen, #LeoMessi, and #Laureus24.”
