Carlos Alcaraz expressed his sincere condolences to the families of those impacted by the devastating fire that destroyed nearby apartment buildings in Valencia, Spain.
On Thursday, a large fire spread to two nearby apartment buildings, resulting in at least nine fatalities and around fourteen people missing. CNN reported that the fire in Campanar, a Valencia suburb, began at approximately 5:00 PM local time.
The structure included a highly combustible polyurethane covering, and the flames spread alarmingly quickly. Approximately sixteen fire engines arrived on the scene, but the officers struggled to put out the fire. Alcaraz gave an honest take on the families of the victims and others impacted by Thursday’s tragedy on social media on Friday.
Alcaraz wrote on his Instagram stories: “A heartfelt hug to all those affected by the terrible fire in Valencia and all my love to the families of the deceased.”

Currently the world no.2, Carlos played his last match on the 20th of February when he had to retire when playing against world no.117 Thiago Moura Monteiro in the 1st round and the scoreline was 1-1 .
Presently, during this year Alcaraz achieved a compiled 6-3 record. Carlos Alcaraz’s best result of the year was reaching the semifinal in Buenos Aires.
Alcaraz is scheduled to compete next in Indian Wells (BNP Paribas Open). He will start the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 4th of March.
