Despite the initial assessment from the physio that the injury was not serious, Alcaraz was unsure of his readiness for the upcoming match and underwent testing the next day. However, during the interview, Alcaraz expressed his disappointment and pain after the fall and ultimately decided to retire from the match due to the intense pain.
