Jannik Sinner never discusses his personal life by choice, and when he does speak about it, it’s usually to quickly shift the topic. The urge comes from Sinner’s desire to keep certain things private for himself and his loved ones, from any debatable regions or hard realities.

That’s precisely one of Sinner’s secrets—that he can focus on tennis and associate his character primarily with the court without allowing the media to add new elements to the story of his profile. Jannik is well-known for dating Maria Braccini fo some years.

Sinner expressed his thoughts about it recently and said: “I like to talk about tennis and about sports in general. But when it comes to private life, yes, I want to keep it that way. I want to protect the people who are close to me, keeping them out of my public life. I love it as a task to be done, almost a duty: they helped me, when I was younger, to gain confidence in myself, and today somehow I want to protect them.”

The 22-year-old wants to be the topic of the town for his accomplishments on the circuit’s biggest stages and nothing else.

He added: “I might as well talk about it. But the people close to me think like me on this issue. Because they are very similar to me, we understand each other with a glance in a second. I only want to control the things that prevent me from doing my job. I avoid those that don’t put me in a position to train peacefully the next day.”
