Coco Gauff has discussed the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in Gaza, speaking out for peace in the region.
During the interview, Gauff covered a wide range of topics, including the Gaza War. Israel is still conducting airstrikes and ground operations in Gaza as a result of an October onslaught by Hamas, a militant organization with its headquarters in Gaza.
There is no sign of an end to the fighting, which has claimed the lives of close to 30,000 people. Gauff stood up in response to these crimes, demanding a stop to the fighting and peace in Gaza. The young American promoted raising money to aid individuals impacted by the conflict and increasing public awareness of the situation.
Gauff expressed her thoughts about it and said: “I feel like it would be ignorant to say I’m not aware; I’m very aware of everything that’s going on in Gaza. For me, I always say I pray for peace in the region. And I don’t like what’s going on. For me, it’s sometimes troubling to live the life I live, knowing that so many kids and innocent people are dying on both ends, but especially in what’s going on in Gaza and the occupation that’s happening.”
She added: “In my position, I know there’s not much I can do other than raise awareness and donate. So that’s what I encourage everyone to do: just pray for peace, demand peace, and demand that this stop happening.”
