Alex De Minaur Expresses Frustration Over Constant Questions About Jannik Sinner

Australian tennis star Alex De Minaur has voiced his frustration over the incessant inquiries regarding his rival, Italian player Jannik Sinner. Despite his admiration for Sinner’s talent and character, De Minaur has grown weary of discussing him repeatedly.

Sinner’s exceptional performance in 2024, marked by significant victories at the Australian Open and in Rotterdam, has drawn widespread attention. De Minaur recently faced Sinner in Rotterdam, where he fought valiantly for two hours but ultimately succumbed to his opponent’s prowess. Following the match, De Minaur candidly expressed his desire to move on from discussing Sinner in interviews.

“Look, you always ask me about Jannik, and I’ve got nothing but good words to say about Jannik,” De Minaur asserted. “But please, I don’t wanna answer more questions about Jannik, thank you.”

Sinner’s dominance over De Minaur extends to seven consecutive victories, reflecting the Italian’s exceptional form and rise in the tennis world. At just 22 years old, Sinner’s recent achievements have propelled him to the No. 3 spot in the world rankings, trailing only Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic.

Reflecting on his success, Sinner credited his team’s efforts and emphasized the importance of continual improvement. “My team and I did a really good job a few weeks ago, and now we made a very good job here,” Sinner remarked. “I am really proud of the level that I played throughout this whole week.”

Despite their competitive singles matches, Sinner and De Minaur have also partnered in doubles competitions. Sinner acknowledged the difficulty of facing De Minaur on the court and expressed pride in their collaborative efforts.

“It’s very tough to play against you,” Sinner admitted, prompting a light-hearted response from De Minaur: “I’ll get you back next time.”

Sinner’s recent triumphs, including his victory in Rotterdam following his major win at the Australian Open, underscore his rising status in the tennis world. With a remarkable display of skill and resilience, Sinner has firmly established himself among the sport’s elite, leaving a lasting impression on both opponents and fans alike.
