Alcaraz explains why it is hard to beat in-form Sinner at the moment

Carlos Alcaraz expresses his happiness that the Italian's hard work is paying off while also highlighting how challenging it is currently to overcome Jannik Sinner.

Sinner And Alcaraz Shake Hands

Carlos Alcaraz describes how difficult it is to defeat Jannik Sinner at the moment while acknowledging that he is happy that the Italian’s dedication is paying off.

Sinner is having an amazing season, winning 32 of his previous 34 games, and he carried over his energy from the conclusion of the 2023 season into the 2024 campaign.

After winning his first Grand Slam at the Australian Open to open the season and then winning the Rotterdam Open on Sunday, the 22-year-old is undefeated in 12 matches this year.

Sinner became the highest-ranked Italian male in history after winning the tournament in Rotterdam. He is currently only 835 points behind Alcaraz in second place in the ATP Rankings, a career-high position. Having lost his last two encounters with the Italian, Alcaraz thinks players must perform at a stratospheric level to have a chance against Sinner.

Alcaraz expressed his remarks about Sinner and said: “Jannik is living in a very good moment. His level of tennis shows how confident he is. He’s a super hard worker and no wonder he’s at this point right now. To beat him, you have to play at a stratospheric level. I’m happy for him because he’s a very good person and his being at this point helps me to improve and get the best out of me.”
