Raonic wins the title in St. Petersburg

Milos Raonic wins his 7th career title in St. Petersburg after edging Sousa in 3 sets.

It was more than 1 year since the Canadian has won a title as the last one was in July 2014 when he triumphed in Washington.

With this title Milos earns 250 ATP points to be no.12 in the YTD rankings. The Canadian aims at qualifying for the World Tour Finals for the 2nd consecutive year. With 2080 points Milos is quite far from world no.8 David Ferrer (3005 points), but he is close to Gasquet (no.9) that has 2355 points.

Raonic about qualifying for the WTF

Milos commented “It would be special [to qualify], especially with the difficulties I’ve faced this year with my health and missing a lot of big events. Playing a part of the year with a kind of hindrance, it would be special and something that will require a lot of winning in what’s left of the year. I believe I can do it.”

Thank you all for the amazing support this week!
