Bencic, Radwanska to fight for the Tokyo title

Belinda Bencic and Agnieszka Radwanska will play for the title in Tokyo.

Bencic

Belinda defeats for the 4th consecutive time this year Caroline Wozniacki in straight sets in the semifinal. The Swiss had no problems to win the match 6-2 6-4 to comment “It’s amazing to be in the final. The first time I played here was two years ago, and it was a huge tournament for me. It’s really just beautiful here, so to make the final here is really exciting. I’m feeling very good right now.”

Radwanska

Agnieszka had a difficult start against Dominika Cibulkova in the other semifinal, but eventually she recovered from a 2-4 deficit winning 10 of the following 11 games (the final score was 6-4 6-1). The Pole commented “I’m just so happy to be in the final here for the third time (after 2011 and 2012). I think this is the only tournament I’ve been to the final of three times, so it’s for sure a special place for me!”

Head to head

Bencic-Radwanska have played each other only once and that was in this year’s Eastbourne final when Belinda won 6-4 4-6 6-0. Time to avenge that for Agnieszka.
