Carlos Alcaraz is training on the surface at this early point in the tennis season for a reason, as he is scheduled to make his comeback on upscale courts in South America.

Following a similar schedule to the one he had last year, which included an appearance at this event, the Wimbledon winner chose to compete this week at the Argentina Open in Buenos Aires.

Before winning the Indian Wells ATP 1000 event at the beginning of March, he played in Brazil. Over the next few weeks, he will be hoping for additional achievements along those lines.

Grand Slam victories are essential for every tennis player to establish a legacy, but Alcaraz has stated he has another goal in mind for 2024.

Alcaraz expressed his thoughts about playing in Buenos Aires: “Last year I came because I had no matches because I could not play Australia. I had not competed for a long time. This year I decided to come back because I loved it.”

He further said: “It’s a very nice tournament, people are wonderful; it was an incredible tournament and I wanted to come back this year. The vibes I feel here are special. To those who are in Europe, especially those who have not played the South American swing, I would give them the advice to make the experience of playing in Buenos Aires, in Rio, they won’t be disappointed.”
