The Spaniard decided to play his first tournament after the Australian summer in Buenos Aires where he is seeded no.1 in the local ATP 250. of January when he was defeated by world no.6 Alexander Zverev 6-1 6-3 6-7(2) 6-4 in the quarter of the Australian Open (draw).
