British tennis sensation Emma Raducanu has expressed confidence in the adjustments made to her game following the Australian Open, indicating a positive trajectory toward her peak performance.

Raducanu, renowned as the first qualifier in the Open Era to clinch a Grand Slam title at the 2021 US Open, has faced a tumultuous journey since her historic win. Battling injuries throughout the 2023 season, she opted to skip the French Open and grasscourt events due to ankle and wrist surgeries. Returning to the court with a special ranking of 103, Raducanu showcased resilience at tournaments like the ASB Classic and the Australian Open.

In a recent interview with former Wimbledon champion Marion Bartoli on Sky Sports, Raducanu highlighted her gradual progress towards reclaiming her form. “I think that now on I am like slowly getting there. It is like little by little you get better and better, then learn something and then you will unlearn something. It is that process,” she explained, underscoring the iterative nature of improvement.

Reflecting on her performance post-Australian Open, Raducanu expressed satisfaction with the positive changes in her game. Despite an early exit from the tournament, she found encouragement in witnessing the implementation of tweaks made in training. “I think I actually made some tweaks after Australia right before Abu Dhabi and seeing them in the first-round match is really a good positive for me because that is a week of practice,” she stated.

The 21-year-old acknowledged the challenges inherent in adapting to technical adjustments, emphasizing the gradual progression from training drills to match play. “In the recent months, I have made a few technical tweaks. So, I mean to try and change something technically is actually difficult as well,” Raducanu elaborated, shedding light on the intricacies of skill development.

As Raducanu continues to refine her game, her resilience and dedication serve as testaments to her potential for further success in the world of tennis. With a measured approach to improvement and a commitment to mastering new skills, Raducanu’s journey embodies the essence of growth and adaptation in competitive sports.
