Goffin, Darcis give the Davis Cup final to Belgium

The Davis Cup final is going to be Great Britain vs. Belgium!

After Andy Murray gave 3 decisive points to his team, it was time for Goffin and Darcis to give a historical Davis Cup final to Belgium.

Everything was decided in the last day of the long week end after Belgium was 1-2 down against Argentina. Goffin had an easy ride against Diego Schwartzman (6-3 6-2 6-1) and then it was time for world no.64 Steve Darcis to play world no.65 Federco Delbonis for the last and decisive point.  Eventually it was Darcis to win 6-4 2-6 7-5 7-6 (3) with the huge help of the home crowd.

Darcis: It’s unbeilavable

Steve commented “If you would have told me 10 years ago that we would play a final in Davis Cup, I would not believe it. It’s unbelievable. For our small country it’s pretty big. For me, it’s really big. I fought on Friday and Saturday and today was the same. David worked a lot too and gave us two points. He gave me the chance to finish the job.”

The final against Great Britain will be played in Belgium the 27-29th of November.
