Bouchard withdraws from Tokyo

This is definitely not the season that Genie Bouchard was hoping for.

The Canadian Beauty seemed to be on her way to recover from a terrible season after reaching the US Open 4th round, but than a rather mysterious concussion sustained in a fall in the locker room ended her tournament. We didn’t have any news after that episode, and now we got the statement that Genie has not yet recovered so as not to be fit to play for the Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo.

Bouchard. I can’t way to go back next year

Genie released the following statement “I’m really disappointed to withdraw from The Toray Pan Pacific Open, but I haven’t sufficiently recovered from the concussion I sustained while competing at the US Open. My fans in Japan are very special to me. I love playing there and I can’t wait to go back next year.”

Genie is still scheduled to play the next tournament in Wuhan where she is the 2014 runner-up (d. by Kvitova).

The road to greatness seems to be a bit far… let’s hope to have her back soon.

SO MUCH STRUGGLE… SO MUCH
