Former tennis great Andy Roddick recently said that once the younger players figure out how to defeat Novak Djokovic, they won’t hold back against him.
The most recent match Djokovic lost was in the Australian Open 2024 semifinals against 22-year-old Jannik Sinner. This was his first loss in Australia since 2018. The 20-year-old Carlos Alcaraz defeated the Serbian in the Wimbledon final in 2023.
Roddick, who faced Djokovic nine times between 2007 and 2012, discussed the Serb’s Slam performance in an episode of his podcast. He expressed his thoughts about Djokovic and said: “He kind of limped out of this Australian Open a little bit, you know, through no fault of his own; the guy’s been better than anyone on Earth, and it’s going to happen.”
Roddick further said: “But I’m a little concerned; he’s not getting younger when it turns; it turns quickly; he has guys that can punch him in the mouth; you know, he has this new generation that, once they know they can beat him, they’re not going to revert to the mentality that there’s no way to beat.”

Novak Djokovic in 2024
LWWWWWWWWL Now ranked no.1, Djokovic played his last match on the 26th of January when he was defeated by world no.4 Jannik Sinner 6-1 6-2 6-7(6) 6-3 in the semifinal of the Australian Open (draw).
This season Novak has a composed 7-2 match record. Novak Djokovic’s latest run at the Australian Open was the best achievement of his season.
Djokovic will compete next in Indian Wells (BNP Paribas Open). He will start the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 4th of March.
