Jannik Sinner returns to Italy and visits Colosseum with his trophy

Jannik Sinner proved to be a warrior on the court on Sunday at the Australian Open, winning his first Grand Slam prize in five sets against Daniil Medvedev. The 22-year-old went to the Colosseum in Rome to recognize his achievement as part of his trophy tour.

At the Australian Open, Jannik Sinner was a warrior on the court as he defeated Daniil Medvedev in five sets to win his maiden Grand Slam trophy on Sunday. As part of his trophy tour with the Norman Brookes Challenge Cup, the 22-year-old rightfully visited the Colosseum in Rome while back in Italy to honor his accomplishment.

Sinner wrote on social media: “A special place to come home to. Thank you for all the love.”

Sinner became the second Italian male to win a major singles title in the Open Era with his victory at the Australian Open. In that exclusive group, he joins 1976 Roland Garros champion Adriano Panatta.

Ranked world no.4 (career-high), Sinner played his last match on the 28th of January when he overcame world no.3 Daniil Medvedev 3-6 3-6 6-4 6-4 6-3 in the final of the Australian Open to win his 12th career title.

Presently, during this year Jannik achieved a compiled 7-0 win-loss record. This year, Sinner lifted the trophy at the Australian Open.

Sinner will play next in Marseille (Open 13 Provence). He will start the tournament from the main draw that will commence on the 5th of February.
