Johann Sinner, the father of Jannik Sinner, recently expressed his happiness at hearing the young Italian talk well of his parents following his victory at the Australian Open. On January 30, Sinner won the Australian Open 2024 final over Daniil Medvedev of Russia to win his maiden Grand Slam title.
During his winner’s speech following his historic victory, Sinner expressed his sincere appreciation to his parents, Johann and Siglinde.
Sinner appreciated his parents after the win and said: “I wish that everyone could have my parents because they always let me choose whatever I wanted to. Even when I was younger, I also did some other sports and then they never put pressure on me and I wish that this freedom is possible for as many young kids as possible. So thank you so much for my parents.”
The lovely remarks Sinner made about his parents following his Australian Open victory touched his father.
Sinner’s father stated his remarks about his son and said: “He was like that, already good at all sports as he is good at his job. Was I surprised by his words—those words about us? That’s the way he is; he learned early on about work culture, commitment, and humility.”
