At the Australian Open, Dayana Yastremska secured her spot in the final four with an incredible performance on Wednesday. In the competition’s quarterfinals, she faced off against the teenage Czech prodigy Linda Noskova. As the first female qualifier to go to the competition semifinals in 46 years, the Ukrainian defeated her in straight sets.
In the game versus Noskova, Yastremska had the better of the majority of the play, ultimately winning 6-3, 6-4 to defeat her.
In the on-court interview after the match, Yastremska was questioned concerning her mother, Marina Yastremska. She replied: “Oh, my mother. She knows everything that I think. I think we need to get some more time to go shopping. When I look at her, I know what I have to do: move my legs hard. I have a tattoo here that says, ‘Mother Beauty.’ Sometimes I look, and it reminds me I have to fight till the end.”

Dayana Yastremska will square off with the world no.15 Qinwen Zheng in the semifinal. They have never competed against each other till now on the main tour.
