After dominating Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic on Monday, Carlos Alcaraz stated he would need to perform at his peak against Alexander Zverev in the Australian Open quarterfinal.

The Spaniard says he performed brilliantly at Rod Laver Arena despite opting not to participate in any competitive tennis in the lead-up to the first Grand Slam of the year.

However, he acknowledged that, up against Zverev, who leads their head-to-head 4-3 after winning their most recent meeting at the ATP Finals, he will need to step up his game.

Alcaraz expressed his remarks about Zverev and said: “He is a great player. He has beaten great guys here in this tournament. I love playing against him. It’s always a tough battle. I have to play at my best level. He pushes me to play 100 percent every time. The last time we faced each other, I lost so I have to be focused on that. I have to improve my level from that match.”
