Although Emma Raducanu fought bravely until losing at the Australian Open, she says there was no way she was going to give up on her Grand Slam comeback.

In a second-round encounter where she was throwing up in her mouth, Wang Yafan of China defeated Raducanu 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. Raducanu was participating in her fourth match following eight months of absence due to surgery on her ankle and wrist.

Any player returning from a lengthy absence must be patient with their progress since it takes time for them to regain match fitness. Raducanu requires even greater caution, considering the extensive list of mental and physical challenges she has had since winning the US Open in 2021.

Raducanu was recently spotted taking advantage of the Australian summertime and walking along the beach and some other places. She captioned on her Instagram: “Aus off CT, grateful for my first trip back. I loved seeing you all and the support. Thank you♥️sad it wasn’t for longer but going up from here.”
