At just 19 years old, Coco Gauff is already one of tennis’ top stars. She joined the ranks of great players like Tracy Austin and Serena Williams as the third-youngest American to win the US Open Championship in 2023.

Gauff is the daughter of Candi and Corey Gauff. After graduating from Georgia State University with a degree in basketball, her father went on to work as a healthcare executive.

In addition to being a schoolteacher, her mother Candi Gauff was a Florida State University track and field athlete. Shortly after getting married, the 19-year-old’s parents relocated to Delray Beach, Florida, and pushed her to try out a variety of sports, such as track and basketball. But, Coco Gauff, then six years old, displayed an interest in tennis and won over fans with her unique skill.

Gauff has two younger brothers: 10-year-old Cameron Gauff and 16-year-old Codey Gauff. A glimpse into Coco Gauff’s personal life can be seen in her recent remarks about her boyfriend following the US Open victory. Though her relationships continue to grab viewers’ interest, the tennis star’s privacy only increases the attraction.
