Serena Williams had finally an “easy” win at this US Open edition.
The world no.1 is chasing a historical Grand Slam, but she has been feeling the challenge a bit too much to struggle in the previous 2 rounds a bit too much. This time Serena had no major issues to dispatch Madison Keys in the 4th round 6-3 6-3. Match Stats
Next vs. Venus
The big stuff is that now Serena has to face her sister Venus in the quarters and to be honest that shouldn’t be a huge hurdle. Of course we hope that we will not face another drama like the one we had a decade ago in Indian Wells when a retiring Venue “helped” Serena to reach the final (we all know the mess that followed), but we really do not see Venus playing at her super best. Venus will put up some resistance, but we are sure she definitely do not want to be one who stopped her sister from winning a grand slam!

Serena: She wants to win
The world no.1 thinks that Venus will do everything to win (we disagree… sorry) “I think it’s more fun than it used to be. We really relish the opportunity. We’re both happy to still be involved in getting so far. And it’s still super intense.
She’s doing well, and she wants to win this. So do I. It’s not going to be easy.”
