After her early departure from the Australian Open on Monday, Naomi Osaka intends to return to work. The former world No. 1 has arranged her schedules to include events in Dubai, Indian Wells, Miami, and Charleston.

Osaka, who had her first child in July and had been away from the sport for 15 months, recently returned two weeks ago. She said she had discussed with her coach, Wim Fissette, planning a full clay season.

Following her opening-round loss to Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia 6-4, 7-6(2), Osaka informed the media and said: “Wim just talked to me about playing a lot more matches. I don’t know if he wants to add stuff. I’m thinking of playing Dubai, Indian Wells, Miami, Charleston, and then probably a full clay season.”

In just her third match of the year, the four-time Grand Slam champion appeared rusty after making a comeback to Brisbane in the lead-up to the first Grand Slam of the year.
