Murray beats Kyrgios

Andy Murray didn’t struggle that much to beat Nick Kyrgios.

The world no.3 had to control the Australian and his crazy moments. In the first set Andy fought till Nick gave up in the last game; then the Scot had an easy life in the 2nd set. Kyrgios’ moment of glory lasted just 1 set when he won 6-4, but eventually he imploded in the 4th. The final score was 7-5 6-3 4-6 6-1.

Murray: The key was the beginning of the 4th

Andy commented “The beginning of the fourth set was important, when I got the momentum back. I served pretty well, got a lot of free points. But I had to do a lot of running in tough conditions. He’s unpredictable and he can play all of the shots, serves extremely well, fantastic athlete.

You’ve got to get him out of his strike zone. He made a couple of mistakes in the first game of the fourth set and I made him play as many balls as I could.”

Next vs. Mannarino

Andy will play Adrian Mannarino. Head to head is 1-0 for Murray that has defeated Adrian this year 6-3 6-3 in Indian Wells.
