Lorenzo Musetti, hailed as one of the brightest talents in his generation, is carving his unique path in the competitive world of tennis. While acknowledging the achievements of contemporaries like Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, and Holger Rune, the 21-year-old Italian remains steadfast in his journey, taking pride in his progress while dreaming of greater success.

With an enchanting one-handed backhand and an eye-catching style, Musetti has become a crowd favorite, charming spectators who flock to witness his captivating play. Reflecting on his career, which includes two ATP titles in 2022 and a career-high ranking of 15, Musetti acknowledges the road ahead, aspiring to break into the top 10.

“That surely is my goal, to break into the top 10, that’s why I put in all the hard work. With victories comes confidence and positivity. I have to maintain the high level of my game, to be more consistent,” affirms Musetti.

The off-season saw Musetti and his team intensively focus on refining his game, adopting a more aggressive style. In an exclusive interview with Tennis Majors, he shares, “We worked really hard on serve and on the return, and I feel I’ve made some improvements in those aspects of the game. Also, we’ve worked on being more aggressive, more attacking-minded from both sides.”

A significant addition to Musetti’s team is Corrado Barazzutti, a seasoned coach and former ATP champion. Musetti values Barazzutti’s vast experience and hopes for his guidance to propel him further in the upcoming season.

“Corrado is a former champion and has vast experience in coaching – he was the Italian Fed Cup and Davis Cup captain for almost 20 years. Also, he coached Fabio Fognini, and I really feel that he can contribute to my game in the future, hopefully this season too,” acknowledges Musetti.

As he embarks on his third year on the ATP Tour, Musetti reflects on the evolution he has undergone. From the challenges of the first year to the maturation process, he emphasizes the importance of passion for success in the demanding world of tennis. With impending fatherhood, Musetti has embraced change, staying true to his dreams.

“When I started, everything was still a dream. At that time, if someone came to me and told me, ‘You are going to be in the top 20 or top 15 in the world,’ I would have signed up immediately. Hopefully, I can fulfill another dream of mine, to reach the top 10,” shares the determined Italian.
