Nick Kyrgios explains why Novak Djokovic is the best athlete in the world

In a recent conversation, Nick Kyrgios stated his admiration for Novak Djokovic and gave his reasons for believing that the Serbian is the best athlete in the world across all sports, not just tennis.

Novak Djokovic With Nick Kyrgios

Nick Kyrgios showed his appreciation for Novak Djokovic in a recent discussion with stand-up comedian Trevor Noah. Kyrgios explained why he thinks Djokovic is the world’s greatest athlete in all sports, not just tennis.

Previously, Kyrgios and Djokovic had a tense relationship because they frequently made fun of one another. When Kyrgios stood by the Serb during his deportation from Australia two years ago, things took a big turn for the better.

Kyrgios displayed a new side of himself in the most recent episode of Noah’s podcast—one that appreciates and acknowledges the accomplishments and skills of world No. 1.

Because tennis involves constant flexibility and adaptability, the 28-year-old Australian remarked that it is one of the most unexpected and tough sports in the world. He praised Djokovic for managing these circumstances and winning nonetheless.

Kyrgios expressed his remarks about Djokovic and said: “I think Novak Djokovic is the best athlete in the world because his ability to adapt is like no other. Every other athlete in the world knows when they’re going to start; they know when they’re going to finish. They know how many games are going to be played.”

He further added: “How does this guy adapt to every single scenario put in front of him and still come out the best? It’s incredible. Tennis is nuts. So that’s why, I think, it’s Novak for me. People don’t know that about tennis, though. And with the schedule, you don’t know when you’re going to start playing. There’s no direct time when you’re going to start. More than half the time, you don’t even know when you’re going to start. You don’t know when to eat, and you don’t know when you’re going to finish. It’s hard to plan or it’s insane.”
