Emma Raducanu is raising questions about her fitness heading into the Australian Open after pulling out of her second straight exhibition match.
Raducanu made her comeback at last week’s ASB Classic in Auckland after missing more than eight months due to triple surgery. She won her first match and impressed in her second, even though she had heavy strapping on her thighs, before falling to Elina Svitolina in three lengthy sets.
Tuesday’s charity match between the former British No. 1 and Naomi Osaka was scheduled to take place, but both players withdrew as a precaution against injury, as did Raducanu after Donna Vekic was named as the opponent’s replacement.
Raducanu has withdrawn from his scheduled second exhibition match against teenage star Mirra Andreeva on Thursday in Melbourne.
Once more, the move is believed to be a precaution after she missed so much time due to surgery on both of her wrists and one ankle, but it prevents her from playing time ahead of the season’s first grand slam.

Currently the world no.299, the Brit played her last match on the 4th of January when she was defeated by world no.23 Elina Svitolina 6-7(5) 7-6(3) 6-1 in the 2nd round in Auckland (draw).
This season the Brit owns a compiled 1-1 win-loss record.
